John, Jason Isbell & Kacey Musgraves Talk Songwriting Before Their New Year's Show at The Grand Old Opry

Ahead of their New Year's Eve show at the Grand Old Opry, John Prine, Jason Isbell and Kacey Musgraves sat down with the Nashville Scene to have a chat about songwriting and their own unique style. "One thing that’s really influenced me about John’s songwriting is the ability to keep things very conversational. As a writer, the hardest thing to accomplish in a song is making it so simple but so beautiful and poignant at the same time. I just love that he always says things in the same manner that you would say to somebody in a conversation.
